Xero Product Update – August 2021
The latest Xero product update webinar brought us many new features. Here at Cardens, we want to share our key takeaways:
Analytics Plus
Our top takeaway this quarter is the brand-new reporting feature ‘Analytics’ – helping you get better insight into short-term cashflow & profitability. We think this update can be so useful for your business that we’ve written an Analytics Plus blog. See more details here.
Income & Expenses by Contact report
Sticking to the reporting updates, Xero have combined the ‘Income by Contact’ and ‘Expenses by Contact’ reports into one report, meaning you no longer need to export both to excel to merge. Now you can see a quick snapshot & filter where necessary.
Handelsbanken Bank Feed
We are thrilled to see the arrival of automatic bank feeds, after months of needing to manually import bank transactions for Handelsbanken accounts.

Bank Reconciliation
Xero will now auto-suggest bank transfers when you are reconciling the bank accounts to improve efficiency. This is done by looking at previous transactions & transfers. Xero will recognise a match so all you need to do is click OK.
Packing Slips
Previously, if you needed to send a packing slip to a customer you would need to create a Branded Invoice template. Now, this feature has been built into new invoicing, so you can print a basic packing slip directly from the awaiting payment or paid invoices, without needing to edit the template.
GoCardless – Multi-currency
If you use GoCardless as a payment service, you can now integrate multiple currencies with Xero to save you even more time on the reconciliation.
