Sussex Cricket launches its own wellbeing platform

Sussex Cricket Club makes history by becoming the first professional sports club in the world to launch its own mental health and wellbeing platform.

As you may know, Cardens Accountants is a proud partner of Sussex Cricket. The club – in association with the local NHS – has just launched its own mental health and wellbeing platform. The free, online resource is designed to provide hope and support through the power of shared experiences.

At the heart of the mobile-optimised platform is the ‘Champions Cinema’, an ever-growing collection of thousands of videos of 60 seconds or less where people from the club community and beyond share their experiences relating to an A to Z of topics that impact or can help with our mental health and wellbeing.

Contributors include Sussex Cricket players, staff and club cricketers. Experts from Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and individuals from a whole host of backgrounds also lend their expertise.

The Sussex Cricket Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub is backed by the NHS, is completely free, requires no registration and is available to everyone with an internet connection.

We are pleased to share this as a valuable resource for all, particularly whilst in such a challenging time.

The fully searchable library also provides links to trusted local resources and further help relevant to the videos you view.

All of us have faced mental health challenges in recent months. The Sussex Cricket Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub is there for you and loved ones whenever you or they might need. Please feel free to share with anyone you think might find it useful. Click here to explore the platform.

History of the club

Sussex County Cricket Club is the oldest professional sports club in the world. It’s also one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales.

The club has always held first-class status. Sussex have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England.
