Cardens Accountants has recently been approved by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to undertake public sector audits. This is a fantastic opportunity for a local firm to make a difference to its community. Hannah Doherty, the approved Key Audit Partner for this work at Cardens, has been working with the public sector since 2003, firstly with the Audit Commission and then with a ‘big four’ accountancy firm. She has extensive local knowledge of public sector bodies in Sussex, the challenges they face and the connections between those bodies.
In order to be eligible to tender for public sector work the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) undertake a rigorous vetting process to ensure the firm and the key audit partner within that firm have the relevant experience to be able to carry out this type of work.
